Coconut Water

I've always liked the song Da Coconut Nut by Smokey Mountain, aside from its catchy tropical sound, it tells a story about the magical fruit called Coconut. Why magical? Because you can use all parts of it, from roots to fruit. You can get wood from its trunk, roof and shade from its leaves, and the food from its fruit. Amazing huh?

Coconut water coming from the fruit is very healthy. Since we are not getting any younger, I have converted myself to eating and drinking healthy food. I drink about 6 coconuts every week, I get them from the coconut man who sells them outside the subdivision. I usually get the young coconut - or malauhog in coconut man's term because its naturally sweet.

Coconut water is this good - Its high in potassium, full of electrolytes, free of fat and cholesterol and low in salt. This is way better than any sports drink.

I am committed to living healthy, I hope you do the same.

Cream Puffs by Chewy Junior

I first tasted Chewy Junior creampuffs in Singapore. I found it at Bugis Station, its quaint spot is almost unnoticeable since a lot of people pass here, but if you have a sharp nose, you will smell that something is baking. Chewy Junior offers a lot of flavors, if you love cream puff, you would like to try all the available flavors.  If I remember correctly, a box of 12 would cost about 9sgd. You can check their website here.

Lau Pa Sat - Satay Fair

, traEvery time I go to Singapore, I always go to Lau Pa Sat market on Boon Tat road for the tastiest satay in town. Starting at 6 every evening, they close the road and set up tables, chairs and their food stalls where diners can order satay and other singaporean dishes like stingray, chili crabs, chicken wings, noodles, fried rice at affordable prices. You can order the satay in pork, beef, mutton and shrimp and accompanied by peanut sauce and side dish, which is usually cut vegetables and rice cake.

Sellers are very attentive and competitive, they approach you and show you to your table and give you a menu. You can order satay bbq in 25, 40, 60, 80 pcs of your choice of meat. Aside from satay, there are other vendors that go around to sell other singaporean dishes, beer and wet towels.

This place is usually full, you see alot of tourists and office workers eat here after their work. Its good  to come here early or after 8pm so you can find a table. Just tell the cab driver to bring you to Lau Pa Sat and he knows where to take you. After eating here, you can stroll to Fullerton or Esplanade, this place is several blocks away them.

Angry Birds Birthday Cupcakes

While I was in Singapore for a holiday, I received a twiiter message from a friend, asking me to do his birthday cupcakes with Angry Birds theme. How can I refuse  since its an opportunity for me to do something really adorable.

I first heard of Angry Birds last year (2010) when my brother was playing the free version on his iPod. It was a game of strategy, it was difficult killing those pigs. hahaha...

I made chocolate cupcakes, frosted it with buttercream, added a few drops of green food color to make it the color of the grass and handmade the Angry Birds characters in fondant.

Thai food

When you say Asian food, the best description is Thai food. It's blend for sweet, spicy, sour and the use of herbs and spices makes the term tasty.
I have tried a lot of Thai restaurants in different cities in the world but the flavors are still the same. The use mint, lemongrass, Ginger, Thai fish sauce are definitely the giveaway ingredients. My recent dine in a Thai restaurant makes me want to learn thai culinary even more.

Chilled Taho

Today, I got to try Soy Yummy's Chilled Taho in SM Marikina.

They only have regular cup sold at P25.

I prefer cold taho over the warm ones, which are sold in every community. I can taste the sweetness of the caramel more and besides who likes eating something warm in a hot weather like ours.

I'm including Taho making in my to-do list, after all this is a potential great dessert.

Room Spring Clean

Today, I started doing a major project I never thought will take place anytime soon. Actually, its been long over due. I have been keeping on hold to cleaning my room.

My room is a SUPERSTORE. you can find everything that is found in the mall. There's so many things old and new, used and broken, sealed and never used things. My goal in cleaning my room is to dispose the unwanted, keep the unnecessary stuff in boxes, organize my books and magazines.

There's so much work to do. Tomorrow is another day to tidy up.

Dove

I had my first Dove experience when I was 15, there's this slippery feeling, and the constant rinsing doesnt help it go away. I didnt know what moisturize means and what it does.

Now, Ive been using Dove soap since 2004. My doctor has recommended this to me since I get skin asthma from time to time. Its packaging, soap color and smell, reminds me of summer. The shape of the soap slides through the skin with ease.

What I like about Dove is the 1/4 moisturing cream that makes my skin smooth after every use. It is also found in other Dove products like creams and body wash.  Check Dove website here for other products. My favorite body wash is Energize - Grapefruit and lemongrass scent, in yellow contour bottle. I have to buy one when I go to HongKong or Singapore. I cant find them here in the Philippines or maybe there is here but pricey compared to the ones found overseas.

  This is my favorite scent

Last year, Dove has launched Dove Men+Care line, I was excitd to try because its a soap made for men. Though I havent tried its bar soap, I was able to try their deo. Im not a fan of the new product though, I will still use m my old deo. Im excited to try the soap bar soon. Maybe after I finish the 10 bars in stock.

Dove soap will always remind me to feel good.

Instagr.am and Me

One of ipod touch's application that I like is Istagr.am. Its ability to take pictures, choose a filter to change its look and feel and share it with friends in twitter, facebook and tumblr, makes it an ideal application to share with friends your creative point of view. My personal favorite filters are Earlybird, Sutro and X-Pro II. I like the aged look in pictures which I find more beautiful.

This is my first picture using Instagr.am

I heart Instagr.am

Surprise!

Yesterday, I received a package from my friend, Sanshia, who is now based in Cebu. She's been living there for many years now, which originally started as work but she loved it there and embraced Cebu life!

It was my first time to unexpectedly receive something  for me thru couriers. Its usually the web orders I expect or wedding invitations. Nothing that surprises me this much.

She wrote a note:

And here's the gift, which fits me perfectly.

Thanks again Sanchia. This really made my day!

My Ipod

Thanks to my lovely family for the ipod touch that they gave me last Christmas, now I can do a lot of things - serious, fun and creative.

Here's my top use for my ipod touch:

Listen to music
Watch movies - I watched Eat, Pray, Love on my Ipod, while Jeff did the same on his Iphone4, we watched it simultaneously.
Take videos
Shoot pictures
Download applications to make my life fun.
and do Facetime - way better than Skype!

after all these list, I'll name my ipod touch - Jeffrey Yellow.

Baking and Blogging

I have some friends who told me that I should write my own food blog, since I like to share recipes with them. Unfortunately, I dont have the strength to do it, I guess its because I like procrastinating on things. hehe, maybe not procrastinate exactly, its just that its on the lower left or quadrant IV of Covey's quadrant which is not important and not urgent. Hence, the delay. But since I need a creative outlet, I might as well start on two things that interests me, but will also blog soon everything on the list on my profile.

As I type my entry today, I am baking a birthday cake for a 5 year old girl, entry on that cake will follow. I have set the mood - listening to Eat, Pray, Love soundtrack, drinking mango-banana shake, sunny weather. Hearing the kitchen aid beating flour, eggs and sugar. Its the perfect environment to blog and bake.

Im loving it!

Now or Never

I have been thinking of continuing writing here on my blog for quite sometime now. I started this blog in 2007 just for adding things that I want to remember in the future, or some things that fascinates me. I know I cant keep everything handwritten in notebooks and be kept in boxes, which I love. This blog will be so handy since its accessible any where!

Im now committed to write here whenever I have time. so move over procrastination.

Its Now or Never.
